BREAKING: Kanye West Taps David Duke to Manage His 2024 Presidential Campaign
Can David Duke help Ye reach the right voters?
Los Angeles, California — Rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West, who now goes by “Ye,” announced he is seeking the support of former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke for his 2024 presidential campaign. The move comes days after the artist announced his intention to make a run for the White House in the next election, and Ye is looking to hire Duke as his campaign manager.
West recently met with Duke at his home in Louisiana to discuss a potential role for the former Klan leader in his campaign.
“The meeting went very well. Ye was very excited about getting Duke involved,” said a member of Ye’s inner circle. “He thinks his influence would go a long way towards reaching the voters he wants to reach.”
A spokesperson for Duke told The Smattering that the former Klan leader “was very impressed with Ye,” and that he appreciated his willingness to “stand up to the Jews who wronged him.”
“Duke wants everyone to know he thinks West is a ‘credit to his race’ and would be ‘happy to see how he could contribute to his cause,” the spokesperson said.
This development comes days after West was spotted with Fuentes at a Miami airport. Fuentes is known for downplaying the Holocaust and comparing Jews killed in Nazi Germany to cookies in an oven.
Ye has already received criticism for making anti-Semitic remarks. This move is sure to ignite more controversy. But some are already defending him. Conservative commentator Candace Owens released a statement saying she disagrees with his decision:
“As everyone knows, Ye is a really good friend of mine and trusts my judgment. But David Duke is too old to be his campaign manager and probably doesn’t understand the internet or social media. I think a younger leader like Richard Spencer would be more appropriate. Did I mention Ye is a really good friend of mine? Just want to make sure you know that.”
Ye has indicated he would like to also meet with Spencer, a prominent white nationalist, and is currently writing an op-ed for neo-Nazi site Stormfront.
