Kanye West Glues Himself to a Wall at New Balance Headquarters After Security Tries to Eject Him
Boston, Massachusetts — Rapper Kanye West, who now goes by “Ye,” showed up at the headquarters of New Balance Athletics, a major shoe company known for catering to middle-aged men, and glued himself to a wall to prevent security from ejecting him.
The stunt comes a day after Ye was removed from Skechers headquarters after Adidas cut ties with him over anti-Semitic remarks he made on social media and in interviews.
“He just strolled into the lobby and started shouting about how New Balance and Ye could create a brand that would set the ‘dad sneaker’ market on fire,” said an employee who witnessed the incident.
Ye went to the front desk and demanded to speak with New Balance CEO Joe Preston. “He slapped the desk, smiled, and asked to talk to the HNIC,” the receptionist recounted. “I had to look up what that meant on my phone. It was bizarre.”
She told The Smattering that when she asked the rapper if he had an appointment, he replied: “Joe Preston has an appointment — with the future of dad sneakers.”
He then gave her a quick synopsis of his vision for “Yeezy Dads” and ranted about how “Ye and New Balance will change the world.”
Upon seeing two security guards approaching, the rapper sprinted to the nearest wall while brandishing a bottle of glue, which he used to attach himself to the surface. “I ain’t leaving until Joe Preston meets with me,” he shouted.
Ye remains stuck to the wall at New Balance headquarters as employees struggle to figure out how to free him from the wall. But the rapper remains optimistic. “All I need is some food and a bucket, and I’ll be good for awhile,” he declared.
