If you’re reading this, chances are you found The Smattering through one of my satirical tweets. In fact, most of you came because you saw a story about Elon Musk appointing Donald Trump Jr. as Twitter’s new CEO after he steps down. So far, that has been my most popular article.

You might know me from Twitter. Perhaps you have read my work on RedState and Liberty Nation. You may have listened to my podcast.

First, I’d like to say: Welcome! I’m looking forward to entertaining you with my satirical commentary on culture, politics, and the news of the day.

Since my audience on this platform has grown exponentially since launching about two months ago, I figured it would be fitting to give you an idea of what I wish to do with this site.

One thing you must know about me is that I take no prisoners. I am no respecter of party or political affiliation. Republicans, Democrats, and even fellow Libertarians are fair game. I poke fun at everyone — including myself.

As you may have already seen, it is exceedingly difficult to create satire in this political climate. The objective of satire is to use hyper-exaggeration to make a point. But America is so bonkers in 2023 that the idea of rapper Kanye West defending Satan or the White House requiring Paul Whelan to become a transgender woman actually sounds plausible.

Nevertheless, the art form still exists, and I believe it is more important than ever. I plan to do more with this site to promote discussions, both funny and serious. I will be creating content specifically for paid subscribers. Speaking of which, if you’re not a paid subscriber, what are you doing with your life? You might want to rectify that situation expeditiously!

The next few years will be quite a journey in the world of American politics. I look forward to joining you as we witness the insanity that is coming down the pike!
